Initiatives taken as the Vice Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University

On 10th January 2020, I have taken charge as the Vice Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram. I am privileged to inform about the various initiatives that have been introduced within a very short time into my tenure. Initiatives are mainly focused on Student Development, Faculty Development, Research and Infrastructure Development. In the future, I wish to work on the areas of Skill Development, Improving Employability & High-Quality Research. Due to COVID 19 global pandemic, there has been a disruption to the regular operations at the institute, however, the faculty and students were continuously advised and supported to make use of technology and continue the classes and research wherever possible. During the crisis, an opportunity was created to utilize technology and conduct various informative and guidance webinars (see annexure 2) for the benefit of the students.



  • Organizing the 11th and 12th Convocation of Adikavi Nannaya University, where Honorable Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Biswabhushan Harichandan was the Chief Guest.
  • Hosting the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, for the event of launching DISHA app and 18 DISHA police stations across Andhra Pradesh.
  • Attainment of ISO 9001:2015 Certification for the University to ensure permanent quality standards are adopted in the administrative and academic procedures of the University.
  • Attainment of fund by Khelo India Project by The Sports Authority of India for the development of sports infrastructure in the University with a grant of over 8 Crore rupees
  • Attainment of AICTE Approval for University College of Engineering & AKNU MSN Campus Kakinada for the courses of BTech and MCA acknowledging the quality services of the University
  • Launching of Adikavi Nannaya University E-Newsletter NANNAYAVANI to inform students across East and West Godavari of the University news and initiatives.
  • Development of AKNU Learning Management System for students to access learning resources virtually via University Web Portal.
  • Conduct of over 100 Web Events – Webinars, FDPs, Colloquims, Competitions & Conferences during the COVID 19 Lockdown period of 2020-21.
  • Launching of Student Clubs to encourage students to think innovatively and pursue academic passions beyond mainstream disciplines.
  • Launching of Lecture Club – Vinimaya for faculty members to share their ideas/ research to foster interdisciplinary research perspectives and opportunities
  • Initiation of JGATE and JSTOR Facilities for Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library of Adikavi Nannaya University
  • Launch of Complaint Management System DIAL UP NANNAYA for the University to handle issues of students and Affiliated Colleges effectively
  • . Introduction of UGC NSQF PG Diploma courses in Arts, Sciences and Engineering in the University.
  • Installation of Smart Classrooms with Video Capture Technology to facilitate online classes and development of e-resources
  • . Development and launching of Inhouse App for Student Support Services to manage flow of information between University and students.
  • . Launch of Student Feedback System to collect feedback on University faculty and services from students.
  • Launch of Psychological Counselling Cell during lockdown and NSS Blood Donation Cell for maintaining blood donor database across East & West Godavari District.
  • Initiation of NAAC Assessment and Accreditation Process in Adikavi Nannaya University.
  • Implementation of Employee Health Scheme and National Pension Scheme to the University employees.
  • Establishment of International Students Cell to help students from foreign pursue their academic pursuits in the University.
  • Development of Inter-University Collaborations and work as a Cluster of Universities with JNTU Kakinada and Dr YSR Horticultural University Tadepalligudem.
  • Attainment of India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records Recognition for being The Fastest University to conduct 100 Webinars.
